Christmas in the Tiny Home

Merry Christmas! Celebrating a little down time and much-needed rest. The Tiny Home is still open to the elements and waiting for a door. Nonetheless, it's toasty warm in a couple of minutes using just a little space heater.

Many people may be wondering why someone would want to live in such a tiny space (8' x 12'). My mother, for example, things I'm crazy. She thinks only of the limitations and things that are missing. Like flush toilets and stable 22 degrees. She wouldn't notice that I have hot chocolate and Christmas treats, and am actually quite warm in here.

So being in such a tiny space with just the minimum amount of stuff around me gives me an enormous amount of peace. And breathing space. And encourages me to just sit and rest. And maybe ponder a thought I had while reading a book yesterday. Or maybe looking outside to see the sunset (at 4:38pm today!). In other words, being in the Tiny Home helps me be the person I want to be in my home in the city, but that I can't quite muster. I'm too distracted by waaaay too many sounds and thoughts.

We've decided to paint the walls inside for the time being. Maybe install some drywall in the future. So next time you see the inside here, maybe it'll look a bit brighter.
